The Residents of Burton Pedwardine are getting together to create a Parish Plan. A Parish Plan is a formal document that describes what the residents think about the environment that they live in, what they would like to keep and what they would like to change. It also contains details of their aspirations for the Parish over the next five to ten years.

As the Parish Plan is developed, documentation will be posted here, which will update residents on progress in creating the Parish Plan. Every resident will have the opportunity to participate and have their views heard and recorded.

For background reading on the Parish Plan, there is an excellent document, published by the Countryside Agency (now Natural England), giving Guidance to Parish and Town Councils when creating a Parish Plan.

Update: December 2009

Burton Pedwardine have been breaking new ground in Lincolnshire by involving the young people of the Parish from the very outset. Working in collaboration with the Youth Services Team from Lincolnshire County Council, our youngest residents are going to produce a video about the Parish that includes what they like and don't like, as well as their visions for the future. Currently in the planning stage, this video will form an important part of the final plan, which we hope will be a multimedia production rather than the usual document-based submission.
