The cost of Heating Oil has risen sharply over the last 12 months and residents are now faced with ever increasing bills to heat their homes. As the village is not connected to the mains gas network, the only alternative fuels are Domestic Heating Oil (Kerosene 28), LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) or Economy 7 Electricity. The majority of homes in the village use Domestic Heating Oil and we all buy the oil from different suppliers at different times of the year. So, the price that individual residents pay often varies quite considerably. However, many suppliers offer bulk purchase discounts even for small amounts (500 Litres vs. 2,000 Litres) and significant discounts for larger purchases. Several local suppliers have indicated that, if residents were to club together and purchase their oil in bulk for delivery on the same day, they would all benefit from the bulk discount. So, for a little bit of coordination, we can all save money. If you are interested in this scheme, please use the Contact Us form on the website and send in your name and address and a contact telephone number or eMail address. There is no obligation.
